Tales from the Crypt

Why, you may ask, is Tony eating a piece of pizza in the newly-minted crawlspace?  Don't ask.

The dirt dugout under the house has been all sealed up with bricks and mortar.  There's still a large area of exposed dirt, but at least this area that had been disturbed is now hemmed in by this retaining wall.

As for the love note in the cement, Tony said "Real romantic!"  I said, well, we don't believe in carving our name on trees, and this is the foundation of the house!  So, it will have to do.

I was also pleased that the conractors left a nice hole for us to turn the water off from the street.

  1. Fabulous! Love the title of this post! Also, puts me in mind of the Canterville Ghost, for anyone out there who may be familiar with that reference. I'm sure your FF grandfolks are looking down fondly at your love note, a sort of homage to them as well, since their initial tree-carving photo appeared in the Cleveland paper circa 1938! Love to you both, and your lovely Tree House!
