We
just earned our certification from the Portland Audubon Society for the
Backyard Wildlife Habitat program. We have at least 5 percent of our
property planted with Oregon native plants, as well as food, habitat and
shelter for birds.
It's a great program and even comes with a site visit to give us some tips on how to improve bird habitat in our yard, and also discounts on native plants. http://audubonportland.org/backyardwildlife/backyardhabitat
Tony & Molly with our new Backyard Habitat certification from the Portland Audubon Society. The big Oregon White Oak is in the background, filled with acorns for a winter of feeding birds (and squirrels!)
Now I know what will happen to Santa...he can hang out in the tree with the squirrels! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Looks like a whole flock can live in that tree - do you qualify for Super Certification?
Seriously, great job, guys! xoxo
